PLAYA DEL CARMEN, Mexico -- Gary Woodland birdied three of the final four holes Friday for a 6-under 65 and a one-stroke lead in the PGA Tours OHL Classic at Mayakoba.Woodland played the first 36 holes without a bogey, following an opening 64 to get to 13-under 129 on Mayakobas Greg Norman-designed El Camaleon course. He won the last of his two tour titles in 2013.I havent been here since my rookie year, so its been since 2009, Woodland said. The golf course is in great shape. It sets up good for me. I can hit a lot of irons off the tees, lay back a little bit. The whole deal is to keep the ball in the fairway and then attack from there. d.Married last month, Woodland took last week off and worked with instructor Butch Harmon after opening the new season in Malaysia and China. It was nice to have an off week last week, Woodland said. Went out and spent some time with Butch. After the wedding, kind of got a little rusty. Took some time off, but nice to get back in the swing of things. Very comfortable with where Im at right now.Webb Simpson was second after his second straight 65.Today was a lot different from yesterday, Simpson said. Today was a bit of a struggle with some distance control. I had to chip a lot more today, so today was about scoring. I was able to score, made some putts when I needed to for par. Yesterday, I dont remember missing any greens and today I missed quite a few, so very different day, but same score.Scott Piercy had a 6 to reach 11 under. He tied for third in the season opener at Silverado.Just kind of plodding along and trying to pick up birdies where I can and kind of keep the scorecard pretty clean, Piercy said. Felt pretty good. Just trying to pick up some marbles on the way and count them at the end of the week and see where we fall.First-round leader Chris Kirk followed his opening 63 with a 70 to drop into a tie for fourth at 9 under with local favorite Abraham Ancer (68), Russell Knox (65), Charles Howell III (64), Ben Martin (64), John Huh (66) and Adam Hadwin (66).Marc Leishman eagled the par-5 seventh and followed with a hole-in-one on the 134-yard, hitting a sand wedge for 134 yards. The Australian was 7 under after a 65.One-hopped past it and spun back into the hole, Leishman said. Same thing on 8. High sand wedge and landed about a yard past it and zipped back into the hole. It was first hole in one Ive had on tour. Ive had quite a few others just in practice rounds and that, but thats always nice to see it drop in.Defending champion Graeme McDowell rallied to make the cut by a stroke, following an opening 75 with a 65 to get to 2 under.Jim Furyk missed the cut, shooting 74-70 in his first event of the new season. http://www.ramsrookiestore.com/Rams-John-Johnson-Jersey/ . Only three players drafted by NHL clubs were included on the Czech selection camp roster on Wednesday. Those players were Dallas Stars 2012 first-rounder Radek Faksa, Winnipeg Jets 2013 fourth-rounder Jan Kostalek and Phoenix Coyotes 2012 seventh-rounder Marek Langhamer. http://www.ramsrookiestore.com/Rams-Torry-Holt-Jersey/ . Three came down to the fourth quarter while quarterbacks continued to shine in all four games; so important to the overall quality of the game. http://www.ramsrookiestore.com/Rams-Johnny-Hekker-Jersey/ . James, who turned 29 on Monday, injured his groin Friday during the Heats overtime loss at Sacramento. He sat out the following game, a 108-107 win Saturday in Portland, before coming back to help send the Nuggets to their seventh consecutive loss. http://www.ramsrookiestore.com/Rams-Orlando-Pace-Jersey/ . The lawyers filed a 33-page amended complaint Tuesday in federal court in Manhattan, expanding on the suit originally filed Oct. 3 in New York Supreme Court. Arbitrator Fredric Horowitz last week refused to compel Selig to testify in the grievance, and Rodriguez then walked out of the hearing without testifying. http://www.ramsrookiestore.com/T-Shirts/ . Anthony Davis had 31 points and 17 rebounds in his seventh straight game with more than 20 points, but that was only enough to keep the Pelicans competitive into the final minutes. Andrew Bogut had 10 points and 15 rebounds for Golden State, which rebounded from a loss a night earlier in Oklahoma City and snapped a two-game skid. ATLANTA -- Clint Robinson, headed for a return to backup duty, made the most of another fill-in start.Robinson hit a tiebreaking single with two outs in the ninth and the Washington Nationals recovered after giving up a three-run lead to beat the Atlanta Braves 7-6 on Friday night.Robinsons single to left field off Jim Johnson (2-6) drove in pinch-runner Pedro Severino from second base.He certainly did come through, said Nationals manager Dusty Baker of Robinson. At first they tried to give it to us, and then he tried to get it back. The Nationals led 6-3 in the eighth before the Braves took advantage of throwing errors by shortstop Danny Espinosa and third baseman Anthony Rendon to score three runs. Freddie Freemans two-run double off Koda Glover (1-0) tied it.Robinson had two hits and two walks as he started at first base, the spot expected to be manned by Ryan Zimmerman when he comes off the disabled list on Saturday.Robinsons single in the ninth gave Glover his first win though he also was charged with a blown save.Thats definitely not the way you want to get it, Glover said of the win.The NL East-leading Nationals improved to 10-1 against the last-place Braves this season. Washington has won 24 of 30 games in the rivalry since the start of the 2015 season.Mark Melancon pitched the ninth for his 35th save. A review overturned an out call on Dansby Swansons grounder to Espinosa for his second hit of the game with one out. Melancon then struck out Jace Peterson and Ender Inciartes grounder to first ended the game. Its a good game, but I got a little older, Baker said.Inciarte had two of Atlantas four hits against Tanner Roark, including a two-run homer in the sixth. Nick Markakis added a homer to deep right field in the seventh, knocking Roark out of the game.Julio Teheran allowed three runs on six hits and three walks in five innings in his return from the 15-day disabled list with a right lat strain.I felt pretty good, Teheran said. I felt normal, like the way I felt at the beginning of the year.Teheran is 0-6 in 13 home starts this season.STREAK ENDSJayyson Werth was 0 for 5 with three strikeouts, ending his Nationals-record streak of reaching base in 46 consecutive games.dddddddddddd The streak began on June 20. Werth tied Rusty Staub for the longest streak in Nationals/Expos franchise history. The more important thing is that we won the game, Werth said. ... Its not the most glamorous of streaks anyway.GREATEST CATCHNationals center fielder Ben Revere made a leaping catch, reaching over the top of the wall, to take a home run away from Freeman in the fourth. Revere crashed to the warning track, holding his glove hand up with the ball as Freeman stared in disbelief near second base and Roark celebrated on the mound.Unbelievable, Roark said. The greatest catch Ive ever seen.MINORS MOVEThe Nationals acquired LHP Sean Burnett from the Twins for cash considerations. Burnett was assigned to Triple-A Syracuse. The 33-year-old Burnett has pitched in the majors with the Pirates, Nationals -- from 2009-12 -- and Angels. He last appeared in the majors with the Angels in 2014.TRAINERS ROOMNationals: Zimmerman (bruised left wrist) and C Jose Lobaton (left elbow tendinitis) arrived in Atlanta and are expected to come off the DL on Saturday.Braves: LHP Eric OFlaherty, placed on the 15-day DL with left elbow neuritis, will be examined to see if surgery is necessary. OFlaherty, 31, has a 6.91 ERA in 39 games -- double his career 3.24 mark entering the season. I feel for him, said manager Brian Snitker. He just cant do what hes capable of.UP NEXTNationals: RHP Max Scherzer (12-7, 2.95) lasted only four innings in his last start at Colorado, his shortest of the season. Before that start, he had lasted at least seven innings in six straight starts.Braves: Rookie RHP Tyrell Jenkins (2-3, 4.89) allowed seven runs in 4 2/3 innings in a 9-1 loss to the Nationals in his last start on Sunday.
