Jarryd Roughead remains upbeat as he continues year-long treatment for cancer, with the Hawthorn AFL forward to learn more about his progress in a month.Roughead, who had a melanoma cut out of his lip last year, revealed in May that routine scans had uncovered a recurrence.The 29-year-old has been undergoing immunotherapy treatment for eight weeks on four cancerous lung spots.Well have another scan at the 12-week mark and see where its all at and, hopefully, well make some decisions after that, Roughead told Triple M radio.Ive had a bit of an up-and-down patch over the past two months, but I think that was to be expected.Its not going to be smooth sailing.You go through some ups and downs but the last couple of weeks have been pretty good.Ive been able to get back out to the footy club a bit more and start doing some things that I havent been able to do.Roughead initially expected hed be able to continue training.But that hasnt been possible, with the four-time premiership winner instead restricted to shooting hoops and doing some gym work.Which is a bit frustrating, because thats all youve known for 12 years.
