MIAMI -- New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez, already connected to a homicide victim in Massachusetts, is being sued in South Florida by a man claiming Hernandez shot him in the face after they argued at a strip club. The lawsuit filed late Wednesday by 30-year-old Alexander Bradley comes as police in New England investigate the death of 27-year-old semi-pro player Odin Lloyd. Lloyds body was found in an industrial park near Hernandezs home in North Attleborough, Mass. Lloyds family has said he had some connection to Hernandez but would not elaborate. In his federal lawsuit seeking at least $100,000 in damages, Bradley claims he and Hernandez were with a group in February at Tootsies club in Miami when the two got into an argument. Later, as they were driving to Palm Beach County, Bradley claims Hernandez shot him with a handgun, causing him to lose his right eye. Bradley, who is from Connecticut, also suffers from jaw pain, headaches, permanent injury to his right hand and arm and will probably need further surgery, according to the lawsuit. He has already undergone facial reconstruction surgery and has plates and screws in the right side of his face. Bradley "will require extensive medical care and treatment for the rest of his life," the four-page lawsuit says. Bradley did not mention Hernandez in a Palm Beach County Sheriffs Office report at the time. Bradley, found shot and bleeding Feb. 13 in an alley behind a John Deere store, insisted to investigators he did not know who shot him and gave only a vague description of possible assailants. A store employee found Bradley after hearing a shot outside, but the stores video surveillance system wasnt working. Hernandezs lawyer did not immediately respond Thursday to an email seeking comment about the lawsuit. The lawsuit does not mention how Hernandez and Bradley are acquainted. In another development Thursday, police in Providence, R.I., said Hernandez was taunted in May by a man at a nightclub near the Brown University campus but walked away. The man followed Hernandez for three blocks and a crowd formed, held back by police while Hernandez got into his vehicle and left. Meanwhile, in Massachusetts, family and police were mum on the nature of Hernandezs relationship to Lloyd, who played for the Boston Bandits semi-pro team. Media camped out Thursday at Hernandezs home, on the Rhode Island state line not far from the Patriots stadium in Foxborough. A news helicopter followed along as Hernandez drove in a white SUV from his home to the stadium, then got out and went inside. Patriots spokesman Stacey James said the team had no comment on why Hernandez was there. He said earlier that the team did not anticipate commenting publicly during the police investigation. A Massachusetts State Police emergency response team on Thursday was searching the brush with metal detectors and poles on a road leading to the entrance to Hernandezs subdivision. Hernandez lawyer Michael Fee acknowledged media reports about the state police search of Hernandezs home as part of an investigation but said he and the player wouldnt have any comment on it. Lloyds mother, Ursula Ward, would not say how Lloyd knew Hernandez and did not say whether police told her how her son died. An uncle said Lloyd had a connection to Hernandez but wouldnt elaborate. Bristol District Attorney Samuel Sutters office said investigators were asking for the publics help to find a silver mirror cover believed to have broken off a car between Boston and North Attleborough. On Wednesday, at least seven state troopers searched both sides of a road just off the street where Hernandez lives. The officers used thin poles to pull back plants and search through undergrowth along the road. The Patriots drafted Hernandez out of Florida in 2010. Since then, he has combined with Rob Gronkowski to form one of the top tight end duos in the NFL. He missed 10 games last season with an ankle injury and had shoulder surgery in April but is expected to be ready for training camp. Last summer, the Patriots gave him a five-year contract worth $40 million. Hernandez said after he was drafted that he had failed a drug test while with the Gators and had been upfront with NFL teams about the issue. Sports Illustrated reported that the link between Hernandez and the case was a rented Chevrolet Suburban with Rhode Island plates that police had been searching for. The Associated Press could not independently confirm the report. Lloyds neighbour Larry Connors said a black Suburban with Rhode Island license plates was towed out of the yard of Lloyds house after his body was found. Lloyd had been driving it for a few days, but Connors had never seen it before that. ------ http://www.steelersrookiestore.com/Steelers-Lynn-Swann-Jersey/ . Aside from the trilogy main event title fight, there are a number of intriguing matchups in the heavyweight, welterweight and lightweight divisions. CHICAGO -- Brian Dozier was struggling to keep his average above .200 for the first two months of the season. Then June arrived and Dozier turned into one of the hottest hitters in the majors.Dozier homered twice and drove in four runs, Kyle Gibson pitched seven innings of five-hit ball for his first victory of the season, and the Minnesota Twins blanked the Chicago White Sox 4-0 on Tuesday night.Dozier homered in his third straight game and extended his hitting streak to 10 games as the last-place Twins beat the White Sox for first time in seven tries. Its contagious. I know thats a boring answer, but it really is, Dozier said. Guys heat up around you and you kind of feed off one another. I got a couple good pitches to hit.Gibson (1-5) struck out seven and walked one in his best performance since coming off the disabled list this month.Ryan Pressly and Brandon Kintzler each got three outs to finish the six-hitter for Minnesotas first shutout of the season.Thankfully, I was able to put up some zeros and keep some of the pressure off the offense, Gibson said.Dozier pulled both homers off Jose Quintana (5-8), a solo shot off a fastball in the second and a three-run drive off a curveball in the sixth for his third career multihomer game. Doziers 12th homer of the season drove in Eduardo Nunez, who had singled, and Joe Mauer, who walked.Dozier has gone from .202 on June 1 to .259. In his 10-game hitting streak, he is hitting .439 (18 for 41) with five homers, three doubles and two triples.I think hes just slowing himself down and getting a better look at the baseball, Twins manager Paul Molitor said. I think hes executing plans a little bit better and when he gets mistakes, hes taking advantage. It was the ninth straight game with an extra-base hit for Dozier, the longest streak for the franchise since it moved to Minnesota in 1961. Dozier added an infield single off Chris Beck in the eighth. Its all about driving the ball and staying behind the ball, Dozier said. The Twins won for the fifth time in eight games and slowed a White Sox team that thought it waas on the upswing.ddddddddddddChicago had won two straight series after a 10-26 stretch, but it was shut down by Gibson in the right-handers best start since he threw 7 2/3 scoreless innings against the White Sox on Sept. 13.Todd Frazier went 0 for 4 and struck out twice, lowering his average to .198, and Melky Cabrera was 0 for 3 before leaving with a sore left wrist after six innings.Rookie Tim Anderson had two hits for the White Sox, who again provided little support for Quintana. The lefty allowed six hits and struck out eight in seven innings. After a 5-1 start, Quintana is 0-7 in his last nine outings despite a 3.18 season ERA.Its been going on for two or three years, Frazier said of Quintanas lack of support. Maybe we try a little harder. Im not saying pressing like `We got to, we got to. But maybe we go after it more rather than just see pitches.TRAINERS ROOMTwins: RHP Phil Hughes will undergo season-ending shoulder surgery. He was already out with a broken bone above his left knee. ... 3B Miguel Sano (strained left hamstring) homered Monday for Triple-A Rochester, but Molitor said he still has a ways to go before hell be ready to end his rehab assignment.White Sox: Manager Robin Ventura said Cabrera has been sore since diving for a fly ball on June 18. When he swings and misses there seems to be some irritation, Ventura said.MORNEAU CLOSERRecent White Sox signing Justin Morneau (elbow surgery) said he feels more like a baseball player as he takes daily batting practice. The former AL MVP with the Twins could start a minor league rehab stint next week -- he said hell need at least 30 at-bats -- before a possible Chicago debut after the All-Star break. That would put Morneau in line to play at Minnesota as an opponent for the first time July 29-31.Itll be weird, he said.UP NEXTRHP James Shields (2-9, 6.22 ERA) makes his fifth start for Chicago and faces Minnesota RHP Ricky Nolasco (3-5, 4.95 ERA) on Wednesday night.
