LEXINGTON, Ky. -- Malik Monk scored 23 points and DeAaron Fox added 16 to propel No. 1 Kentucky to a 101-70 rout of Cleveland State on Wednesday. With leading scorer Isaiah Briscoe sidelined by a back injury, the freshman duo picked up the slack and did it quickly, helping Kentucky (5-0) roll to a 16-2 lead that was never threatened. They combined for 31 first-half points alone, with 19 from Monk, whose 4-for-4 start from long range and 8-of-12 shooting overall helped him match his career scoring best.Bam Adebayo added 14 points and seven rebounds while Mychal Mulder matched a career high with 13 for Kentucky, which shot a season-best 52 percent from the field in the second of three games in the Bluegrass Showcase.Rob Edwards 28 points on 12-of-21 shooting led Cleveland State (1-3), which couldnt keep up with the Wildcats on either end and trailed 56-35 at the break.---More AP college basketball at: www.collegebasketball.ap.org Yeezy 350 Canada Shop . That means that Marc Bartra will probably start again in the centre of the defence alongside Gerard Pique. Its not often that a player who hasnt appeared in a game in roughly two months -- and wont appear in a game for roughly another month -- experiences the kind of jump in our Going Forward Rankings that Dee Gordon did this week. With Gordons return in greater proximity, however, hes becoming an increasingly viable candidate to rejoin the top 10 second baseman, and theres little doubt that, upon his activation, hell be restored to that group.Following Wednesdays Miami Marlins game, Gordon will have served 57 of 80 games of his suspension for violating Major League Baseballs drug policy, meaning that of the Marlins remaining schedule, he will be an eligible player for 61 of 84 contests, or 73 percent. No matter your opinion on what effect PEDs might have had upon his numbers, Gordon is unquestionably speedy and a contender for the major league stolen base title anytime hes an eligible player.Expanding on that point, Gordon has averaged roughly one stolen base every 2? games during his big-league career to date, which would put him on pace for 24 steals once hes back from the restricted list. To put that number into perspective, Jonathan Villar is the only player with more this season (26), and since the turn of the century, the only players to enjoy a season of at least 30 steals with an average greater than one per 2? games were Emilio Bonifacio (2012), Roger Cedeno (2001), Coco Crisp (2010), Rajai Davis (2013), Jacoby Ellsbury (2009), Billy Hamilton (2015), Juan Pierre (2003, 10), Scott Podsednik (2004-05), Jose Reyes (2006-07) and Willy Taveras (2008).Expect a good 20-spot jump or so for Gordon in each of the next three editions of the rankings, and since there hasnt been much chatter surrounding him in recent days -- the volume of which is almost certain to increase shortly -- hes well worth an add in ESPN leagues (43.7 percent ownership) or a trade inquiry at this stage. Here are some quick thoughts about the weeks other big movers:Jon Lesters inclusion among the top 25 overall players, and top eight starting pitchers, is as much an indictment of the other pitchers in the next dozen or so spots (at his position) behind him as a testament to his great year to date. Thats not intended as a knock on Lester, clearly worthy of top-10 status at the position any season in which hes throwing like this, but in a week of softening in the tier beneath -- Stephen Strasburg and Noah Syndergaard, specifically -- Lester has emerged in the class of Tier 2 (3, if you agree with me that Clayton Kershaw alone comprises Tier 1.)In case you havent noticed, and judging by attendance you havent, Corey Kluber has managed to win six of his past eight starts, and is threatening to climb into Tier 2.What right do we have to doubt Wil Myers ability to stay healthy for an entire 162-game schedule? He was long touted a future MVP candidate and has a Rookie of the Year award on his résumé already, and the only noticeable concern within his peripheral numbers is a slightly elevated home run/fly ball percentage. Heck, I might be underrating him as the No. 46 overall player going forward. Can you name the two second basemen in history to manage at least .200 isolated power in multiple seasons of at least 450 plate appearances played before they celebrated their 25th birthdays??The answer: Joe Gordon 3 (1938-40) and Tony Lazzeri 2 (1928-29) -- and Rougned Odor is on pace to do it this season. There might not be a more difficult player to rank this week than the aforementioned Noah Syndergaard, who is as likely to be one of the five best starting pitchers in fantasy as to miss a months time this season. Placing him 47th overall, and 13th at his position, is an attempt to estimate his trade stock more than it is optimism or pessimism about his rest-of-season prospects. On raw ability hes my No. 7 starting pitcher.Miguel Sano should rejoin the Minnesota Twins sometime this week, and he has already hit two home rruns in five games during his rehabilitation stint for Triple-A Rochester.dddddddddddd If youre looking for a sleeper choice for most second-half home runs, hes a good one.Ive always felt that the Nos. 100-125 overall rankings range was a sort of purgatory. It is often where elite players with injury questions or in the midst of inexplicable slumps belong -- a sort of well, I believe in this guy, but boy is there no evidence right now to support it. It was otherwise a range in which good-not-great players in the midst of torrid hot streaks belonged. Brian Dozier might be as good a representation as any, and while his scorching June boosted him back into the top 100, he feels like the kind of player who should constantly hover in that 100-125 overall range and the fringe of the top 10 second basemen.?My guess: Dozier is the one bumped for Gordon come July 28 (that date could be pushed back if the Marlins have any postponements in the meantime).Kudos to the Cleveland Indians for leading off with Carlos Santana, even if its only against right-handers; he typically bats fifth against lefties. Thanks in part to that dual role, he is on pace for 92 runs scored and 90 RBIs, both of which would be new personal bests for the first baseman. Hes also on pace for more than 700 PAs thanks to the switch, which once again shows how important lineup position is for volume.Rich Hill is apparently on the mend and potentially a candidate to rejoin the Oakland Athletics rotation within the next week, and his move in the rankings is an optimistic approach considering how he had been pitching before getting hurt. Well see how strong he looks in his first start back, as hell be at more risk to move down a few tiers depending on that (and his next few) outings.Sigh. Yasiel Puig. Well, at least hes hitting .333/.360/.458 with one home run in seven games since his activation, but I cant say Im immensely confident about having moved him up a good amount. The Texas Rangers certainly seem to be giving Jurickson Profar the platoon-man treatment, and the mistake in that is his pro-career tendency is to hit right-handers much better than left-handers, though its the latter side the team appears to be targeting. Ive got few doubts about Profars ability in the games he plays against righties, but his value could drop a good 50-plus spots in the next week if this keeps up.Steven Matz belongs in the same discussion as Syndergaard above, but the key difference between the two is the wide differential in terms of their historical durability. Matz has never thrown more than 141 innings in a single year as a pro, and the decline in strikeouts recently is a major concern.New ESPN position eligibilityThe following players added new position eligibility within the past week. As a reminder, position players need to appear 10 times at a new position to gain in-season eligibility, while pitchers need to make three starts to earn starting-pitching eligibility or five relief appearances to earn relief-pitching eligibility:Javier Baez (SS), Darwin Barney (3B), Andres Blanco (1B), Severino Gonzalez (RP), Taylor Motter (OF), Max Muncy (OF).The following players are within two games of earning new eligibility, with their total games played noted at the listed position:Cristhian Adames (2B, 9 games), Mike Aviles (2B, 8 games), Daniel Castro (3B, 9 games), Chase dArnaud (2B, 8 games), Stephen Drew (SS, 8 games), Jedd Gyorko (3B, 8 games), Marco Hernandez (2B, 8 games), Paul Janish (3B, 9 games), Jefry Marte (3B, 8 games), Jurickson Profar (3B, 9 games), Andrew Romine (1B, 8 games).Going-forward rankings: Week 13Listed below are my updated, going-forward rankings.
