ELMONT, N.Y. -- When your stablemate is as regally bred as is Rachels Valentina it is easy to get overshadowed. But Off the Tracks no longer needs to take a backseat to any 3-year-old filly in her barn after she recorded a front-running 3-1/2-length victory over Lewis Bay in Saturdays Grade 1, $300,000 Mother Goose Stakes at Belmont Park.Meanwhile, Rachels Valentina -- the daughter of 2009 Mother Goose winner Rachels Alexandra -- could only manage a fifth-place finish after stumbling and getting bumped at the start.Off the Tracks, a daughter of Curlin, is now 4 for 6. She joined a select group of fillies to win the Schuylerville Stakes at Saratoga at 2 and the Mother Goose at 3. Cicada (1962-63), Meadow Star (1990-91), and Turnback the Alarm (1991-92) are the others.Jose Ortiz rode Off the Tracks to victory. It was his first Grade 1 win of the year and his ninth stakes victory of this meet. He won three races on Saturdays card and his 67 victories at this meet are 20 more than his brother Irad, who won four races on Saturday.Off the Tracks gave trainer Todd Pletcher his fifth Mother Goose victory. He trails only his former boss, D. Wayne Lukas, who has six.Off the Tracks came to Pletcher undefeated in three starts after majority interest in her was purchased by Newtown Anner Stud from J Stables earlier this year. She finished third in the Gulfstream Park Oaks -- her first start around two turns -- before running a good second to Carina Mia in the Grade 1 Acorn here just three weeks ago.I think shes a filly thats always shown big potential, Pletcher said. Everyone was sort of down on her after the Gulfstream Oaks but I actually thought she ran a sneaky good race that day. She was three wide throughout on a track that was playing inside speed and it was muddy. I thought she ran a really good race in the Acorn.Pletcher wasnt convinced how the Mother Goose would be run but he thought there was a decent chance Off the Tracks would be on the lead.Off the Tracks was on the lead, but had to run fractions of 22.79 seconds for the quarter-mile and 45.53 for the half-mile to get there. She was prompted by Moms On Strike. She relaxed good after the first eighth of a mile. She was going pretty fast but she was going relaxed, Ortiz said. When we passed the three-eighths pole she pricked her ears a little bit and that gave me a lot of confidence.Off the Tracks ran six furlongs in 1:09.62 but kept going and though it looked like Lewis Bay might offer a challenge in the stretch that never materialized.Off the Tracks covered the 1-1/16 miles in 1:41.01 and returned $8.10 as the third choice in the seven-horse field.I was a little concerned going as fast as they were but she seemed like she was doing it comfortably, in a good rhythm, Pletcher said. Happy to see her have something left to finish up with.As happy as he was with Off the Tracks, Pletcher was disappointed with Rachels Valentina, last years Grade 1 Spinaway winner who lost her fourth consecutive race. Rachels Valentina stumbled and was bumped by a stumbling Lewis Bay at the break, but neither Pletcher nor jockey John Velazquez used that as an excuse. She got back into a rhythm, she was going well, halfway down the backside I put her in the clear and that was it, she didnt have anything to respond with, Velazquez said. If it was the stumble youd know right away, but she was running well.Lewis Bay also recovered well after her stumble and jockey Irad Ortiz Jr. said he thought he was in a good spot when she moved into second turning for home.I looked behind me at the quarter pole, everybodys riding and nobody had horse. I said great, said Ortiz. I wait, wait, wait I asked her and she fell apart. She just didnt finish. Wholesale Vapormax Ireland . LOUIS -- St. Clearance Vapormax Ireland . Lucic scored on a power play at 15:46 of the third period, when he tipped a shot over Stars goalie Kari Lehtonen for a 3-1 lead. Clearance Vapormax . Klitschkos management company says the bout will be the Ukrainian fighters 25th world championship fight. The 1.83-meter (6-foot) Leapai defeated the previously unbeaten Denis Boytsov in November to become the WBOs mandatory challenger. Cheap Vapormax Ireland . Their experience showed Tuesday as the No. 10 Badgers blunted a Saint Louis surge to win 63-57 and advance to face West Virginia in Wednesdays finals of the Cancun Challenge. NASSAU, Bahamas -- Playing in 2 hours, 54 minutes was nice. So, too, were the seven birdies and no bogeys in a round of 65. The less standing around the better, and fewer shots is the name of the game. But Tiger Woods day was hardly done, even though it was just after 2 p.m. ET when he completed his second round of the Hero World Challenge at Albany Golf Club -- the third-best score on Friday.A visit with a physical therapist was on the schedule for the afternoon as part of a cool-down, all part of the process for playing golf after three back surgeries and the 15-month layoff that ensued.I dont know if you guys have ever been in cold tubs, Woods said. Theyre not fun, but got to do it.Woods has also apparently learned to stay off the heavy weights. He said his weight is less than 180 after a recent illness, though he looks leaner through his upper body as well.Perhaps that has allowed him to swing more freely. Woods has mostly seemed under control here, without the violent swings that sometimes would creep into his game in recent years. No matter his weight, Woods has always been able to hit the ball plenty far, and that might be among the most encouraging things hes showed this week. His power is back.I cant do what I used to do -- weights, running, he said. My first probably five, six years on tour, I ran 30 miles a week. I would run five, six miles almost every day, at least four. Before a round, after a round, it didnt matter. Theres no way in hell Im doing that now. Thats just aging. Thats just having four knee surgeries, three backs. My bodys been through it.Woods, 40, who is tied for ninth in the 17-player field (after the withdrawal of Justin Rose) and is 6 shots back of tournament leaders Dustin Johnson and Hideki Matsuyama, has never been one to go into much detail about any of his training or rehab. And he wasnt going to give a step-by-step rundown of it Friday as sweat poured from his face on another muggy, warm day in the Bahamas. But clearly there is some injury maintenance that has to take place for golf -- and for life. Woods wasnt able to hit a ball for more than four months after his last procedure in October 2015, which probably says all you need to know about the precarious situation he is in now.The fact that more than a year went by before he played a competitive round is yet another sign of the delicate nature of a bad back.If Im activated and I can prepare for something, then Im fine, he said. Its the unexpected. When you have back issues like most of us do out here, it happens.Woods might be just as likely to tweak his back with a sudden move, picking up one of his kids or reaching awkwardly. Before he plays golf, he goes through a lengthy warm-up procedure that is far more than just hittingg golf balls.ddddddddddddhat will be the new normal for Woods and why it is so important to keep in mind that this is not just about the scores he shoots on the course. In order to be competitive, he must balance being careful with the need to practice.Hes moving good, no apparent issues, said Hank Haney, Woods former coach who worked with the golfer when he won 31 PGA Tour events between 2005 and 2009, including six major championships. But to play the tour, you have to play in three-week stretches and practice for five days before that.Maybe take a couple of Mondays off, but 24 of 28 days of golf and then a couple weeks off and do it again and again and again.Haney has long suggested that lack of practice has been as much of a problem as anything for Woods. And while he correctly points out that the Albany course is not overly taxing -- The course doesnt tell a lot. It is barely a par-68 golf course -- he is nonetheless encouraged by what he has witnessed. His swing is smooth, but hes coming too much from the inside with the club behind him and he cant hit a cut but keeps trying, Haney said. I definitely think he wins again and wins another major, maybe more if he doesnt start yipping chips again. Its all short game and health-dependent now. I just dont think these top guys are so good that he cant play with them.Woods admitted there are differences in his swing now compared to when he last played competitive golf at the 2015 Wyndham Championship, where he tied for 10th.Chris Como, Woods swing consultant, has met with him on several occasions over the past few months to work on his game, though Como is not in the Bahamas this week.Ive made subtle changes here and there, Woods said. Ive tried to go back and look at ... some stuff that I used to do as a junior that I did naturally. Think about it, I looked like the size of a 1-iron and I could hit it and I could really move the ball. And there are reasons for it and I tried to go back to a lot of those things, a lot of those feels and try to get into similar positions.Obviously I cant right now. I probably will never be as loose and Gumby-like when I was that young. But there are other things I can learn from that. And his body will go through plenty more challenges if he is to play a full schedule in 2017. It is a good sign that Woods, so far, has endured a hectic week that saw him playing and practicing here starting on Saturday. He does not seem to be babying his return. But what goes on behind the scenes before and after rounds is likely just as important as what occurs during them -- because one will be directly related to the other.
