Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson underwent surgery on Thursday for a lateral meniscus tear in his right knee, and the team issued a statement saying that there were no additional injuries or issues noted in or surrounding the knee joint during the surgical procedure.The Vikings said Petersons rehabilitation process will begin immediately.The 31-year-old Peterson opted for a full repair of his meniscus, rather than a trim that could have had him back in several weeks, after consulting with family and advisers.
